What is the standard of your college in comparison with top colleges in the country? |
As per the survey conducted by Dataquest-IDC-NASSCOM (Ref : DATAQUEST – Vol.XXIII
May 31 2005) our college is ranked 66 among the top Tech schools in the country
which means we are one among the few colleges visible at all India level.
There are 1350 B. E. / B. Tech. colleges in the country. |

How does the IT industry rate your college?
|
|
BITES is a quasi-government body headed by Dr. R. Natarajan, former chairman, AICTE
and they have ranked BNMIT as one among the top five engineering colleges started
in the academic year 2001. |

Do you have a sound management behind the institution? |
|
Yes. BNM Educational Trust which has been doing yeomen service in the field of education
for the past three decades is behind success of BNMIT. BNM group of educational
Institutions are Montessori House of Children, Primary School, High School, Public
School, Pre University College, Degree College and BNM Institute of Technology.
BNM stands for Bhageerathi Bai Narayana Rao Maanay Charities who established the
college. We are fortunate to have Sri. Narayan Rao R. Maanay as Secretary whose
vision and dedication is responsible for all achievements of BNMIT. |

What is the background of the persons heading your institution? |
|
Our director Prof T. J. Rama Murthy is ex-Vice principal of R. V. College of Engineering
and our Principal Dr. K. Ranga is ex-Principal of University Visvesvaraya College
of Engineering (UVCE) and ex-Registrar of Bangalore University. The Institution
has grown substantially due to their rich experience and direction.

How is the demand for admission through CET & COMEDK? |
|
BNMIT is much sought after college for admission as evidenced by the fact that all
our seats get filled within first three days of CET selection process. All the seats
of COMEDK and management seats are filled in spite of the higher fee. The best rank
through CET admission in 2007 is 509.. |

Can you guarantee the same quality of students as in “Popular”
colleges under the same university? |
|
Yes. We function strictly as per the norms laid down by the VTU & AICTE (State
& central Governing Bodies) and are subjected to periodic inspection by them.
VTU has a common syllabus and examination for all the colleges coming under its
umbrella. Therefore a student of our college securing first class will be on par
with a student of popular college. In fact we have more modern infrastructure than
the older colleges.. |

How good is your college result? |
|
The pass percentage is between 95 % and 100% for different branches of engineering
and this is far superior to the results of many well-known colleges. We are also
proud to share with you that our college is one of the few colleges that have bagged
ranks in certain streams of VTU results of 2006 batch. |

What are the courses being offered in Engineering? |
|
Computer Science & Engineering (Current intake: 120)
Information Science & Engineering (Current intake: 60)
Electronics & Communication Engineering (Current intake: 120)
Telecommunication Engineering (Current intake: 60)
Electrical & Electronics Engineering (Current intake: 60)
The course content of Computer Science & Engg. is identical to Information Science
& Engg. Similarly the Telecommunication branch has same syllabus as the Electronics
& Communication Engineering branch except for two subjects in 7th semester.
Electrical students have courses on Electronics subjects as well in their curriculum.

What is the infrastructure and teaching faculty in the college? |
|
The college has about 20,000 Sq. meters of building including 25 class rooms, 12
computer labs besides well equipped state of the art Electronics, Electrical, Physics
and Chemistry labs. There are 306 computers on LAN network including a browsing
centre. We have 98 well-qualified and experienced teaching staff resulting in staff
student ratio of 1:14, better than AICTE norm. We continuously monitor student’s
progress and counsel them and also evaluate the teachers by Teacher Evaluation program.
Performance incentives and assistantship are provided to the deserving students.
Quality improvement programs are conducted for the teaching fraternity. |

What are the value additions to the students? |
The ISTE student chapter, Associations of Computer stream, Electronic stream and
BNMIT Campus club of Lions International conduct various programs to enhance the
student’s technical, practical and management skills apart from giving them
platform for confidence building and to exhibit their talents.
The college conducts workshops and seminars at state and national level on a regular
basis.

Our staff and students were benefited by the lectures given by eminent persons like
Prof. S. Sadagopan, Director, International Institute of Information Technology,
Bangalore,
Recently we conducted a National Conference on Next Generation Networks in association
with International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B) and our
students not only participated but also were involved in organizing the same.
Our students have participated in VTU Sports and cultural events and have won many
prizes.
Community service programs such as Blood donation camp, Tree planting, Nature &
adventure club activities, Polio Eradication camp, NSS activities, Lions campus
club activities, etc., which broaden the outlook of the students to become more
responsible citizens are conducted regularly.

Do you have any post graduate course? |
|
BNMIT has ventured into providing management skills to budding professionals through
the Master of Business Management (MBA) program, which is approved by AICTE and
is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. Keeping with the BNM tradition,
the institute has appointed the best management faculties and visiting professors
from IIMs and other top management academicians to impart the best possible management
education. |

|
Yes. A seminar hall with state-of-art sound and projection system, two Group Discussion
rooms and five interview cabins are exclusively available for conducting campus

Where is your college located? |
|
We are in Banashankari II stage of Bangalore, which is located in the heart of the
city. The college can be easily reached since it is 7 km away from city railway
station and 2 km from the Jayanagar extension.
