DESCRIPTION:The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning organized a Two-Day Workshop on Generative AI on 1st and 2nd April 2026 to equip students with practical knowledge of Generative AI technologies and their real-world applications in content creation\, automation\, and intelligent problem-solving. The workshop was conducted in offline mode over 12 hours\, with the participation of 136 students\, 2 faculty members\, and 2 external participants. \nThe workshop commenced with an introduction to Generative AI models\, familiarizing participants with Large Language Models (LLMs)\, image generation techniques\, and code generation tools. The sessions emphasized creating\, customizing\, and deploying AI-powered solutions while also highlighting ethical\, societal\, and professional considerations associated with AI-generated content. Throughout the workshop\, participants gained hands-on experience using accessible AI tools to improve productivity\, automation\, and innovation across various domains. \nThe first day focused on Text Generation with Embeddings and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Students explored Baseline RAG and GraphRAG workflows\, learned how embeddings enable semantic search\, and practiced loading\, storing\, and querying documents using vector databases such as Pinecone and FAISS. The session also introduced LangChain-based RAG pipelines and self-querying techniques\, allowing participants to build context-aware text generation systems through practical implementation. \nThe second day was dedicated to Diffusion Models for Image Generation\, where participants explored leading AI image generation platforms including OpenAI DALL·E\, Midjourney\, Stable Diffusion\, and Google Gemini.
