SUMMARY:Two Day Workshop on ‘A to Z Transformer Design’
DESCRIPTION:Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department organized a two days student’s workshop on ‘A to Z Transformer Design’ from 17th-18th February 2018. The Resource Person Sri.T.V.Ramaswamy\, Proprietor\, Sara Consultants\, Bengaluru\, gave an in-depth insight into the design of a transformer for practical application. In the first session\, the speaker spoke about the rating of practical transformer used in generation\, transmission and distribution systems. The students were enlightened about the most widely used materials for conductors\, core\, and transformer oil. In the remaining sessions\, the students were exposed to a detailed design procedure of a transformer by considering a 100kVA\, 11kV/433V transformer along with a few other design specifications. The students were able to gain knowledge on the design of a transformer for a given specifications from an industrial point of view.
