His area of expertise includes Marketing operation\, Sales and Retail operation. He has worked in the FMCG sector for more than 10yrs\n\n\nReport\nA guest lecture on ‘Product promotion and operation management’ was conducted for the 3rd Sem MBA students by Mr. Swaroop S. \nThe speaker began his lecture with a live example from the industry – how actual product promotion takes places and how operation management works in HUL.  The Speaker explained students on how fundamental knowledge of business operations plays an important role in any field of business management. He gave the following insights of a business- \n  \nSales and marketing:  How to evaluate the existing market developments\, trends & collate information to develop business. \nRetail operations: Importance of Product demo- How to adopt a suitable discipline in pricing and discounting physical presentation of products and place. How can managers decide about which product should be presented to which customers and at what time. \nHe gave an insight of how HUL worked at the time of covid pandemic and how they diversified their production from necessity products to hygiene products (sanitizer\, hand wash etc.) \nProduction promotion was explained with various promotion tools and method to use this tool effectively in order to place the product in customers mind for a long time. The Speaker gave an idea about how mystery shopping takes place. Speaker also highlighted the importance of having the right attitude to grow in one’s career and being flexible. He gave few real- life examples of strategy and clarified questions raised by students.

Mr. Mahim currently runs a consulting firm\, concentrating on Strategy and Advisory.\n\n\nReport\nA guest lecture on ‘B2B Marketing research’ was conducted for 3rd Semester MBA students by Mr. Mahim Sharma. \n  \nSpeaker began the lecture highlighting the importance of fundamental skills ‘LSRW’ – Listen\, Speak\, Read and Write and explained how this helps in marketing. Speaking about research in marketing\, he said while evaluating existing market\, there are two types of doing research: \n·         Problem identification \n·         Problem solving \n  \nWhile developing a business\, how to do research is important. Speaker explains the steps to follow while doing research. Speaker described the case study of Namma Metro to make students understand the marketing research concepts. Metro planners used cluster method to find research solutions and designed root maps. \nThe Speaker then threw light on Business to Business takes place and how they work. Speaker described various elements in B2B commerce such as Demand forecasting\, Buyer decision\, Supply\, Distant channel\, Buyer benefits and supplier benefits.

He started his career at ANZ bank and has a working experience of 5 years in various departments. He was also part of Aegis Limited as a Team Lead before returning to ANZ in Home loan department.\n\n\nReport\nA Workshop on ‘Problem solving and ideation’ was conducted for the MBA students of 3rd semester. \nThe Speaker started explaining about how ideas are generated in a working environment. Following are the excerpts from his talk- \n●       Necessity is the mother of all innovation (how necessity creates a need to generate ideas about any issues or problems) \n●       Every problem has an equal chance of getting a solution to it \n●       How companies manage to sell any product even at the time of Covid-19 pandemic \n●       Change is the constant thing in the world and how the preference of people changes about any problem or idea generation \nSpeaker provided an insight on various idea generating programs by companies and how they capitalise by identifying the fact that people are ready to pay to satisfy their basic needs (e.g.: flip kart and amazon). \nBy the end of the session students were given chance to clarify their questions and queries.
