Faculty development program/Workshop-Chemistry

1.       Faculty Development Program

Department of Chemistry, conducted Faculty Development Program (FDP) on RECENT ADVANCES IN MATERIAL SCIENCE from  09th  – 13th  January 2017 in association   with The Electrochemical Society of India, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. E. S. Dwarakadasa, President, ECSI, IISc., followed by keynote address. Faculties from various colleges attended the programme. We received an overwhelming response.

The Faculty development program was designed to explore the implications of material science with an objective to encourage young minds to enhance their research abilities by providing an opportunity to meet experts in the field. The resource persons for this programme were from IISc., RRI, Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences, SABIC and other reputed Industries. The programme covered, Polymer composites, Metal Finishing for engineers, organic solar cells, Nanocomposites, Conducting polymer, Energy storage and conversion devices, Trace element contamination of the environment E-Waste Recycling  –  Best  option  for  Resource  conservation and Environmental Protection and Ecofriendly pretreatment. As a whole, the programme was successful.

2.       Workshop

Department of Chemistry organized a One Day workshop On Recent advances in Electrochemical and Surface Science & Engineering on 26th August 2010.

The workshop was to give an insight on many technologies such as energy storage, fuel cells, non-conventional energy systems, corrosion science & material protection, electroplating & surface engineering, electrochemical sensors & devices, electrochemical process engineering & technology and environmental pollution.

Experts from reputed research Institutions and Universities working on different aspects of electrochemistry delivered lectures on recent developments in Electrochemical and Surface Sciences. The main objective of the workshop was to facilitate teachers and students to interact and update their knowledge on emerging trends in the field of electrochemistry.
