BNMIT’s mission is to provide well trained engineering graduates with leadership qualities, team spirit and concern for environment. The engineering students in the four year study need to gain technical knowledge, imbibe the human values and develop higher order skills related to his profession as an engineer and as a citizen. T5 aims at nurturing in the students’ truthfulness and tidiness in their deeds and actions which will in turn generate positive thoughts. It intends to impart time management skills to students so that they can lead successful and balanced personal as well as professional life. Thus the 5 T’s representing Truth, Tidiness, Thoughts and Time management will Transform the students into an engineer/citizen/human being who understands and fulfills his responsibilities. The human value component is an integral part of this program which acts as an anchor, develops self-awareness and sensitivity, feeling of equality, compassion and unity, concern for nature and society, and character to follow through. It also makes them reflect on their bonding with their families and extended family in the college. T5 aims to build healthy relationships between mentors and mentees, which last for their four-year stay and beyond. The T5 sessions are designed to build in our students good communication skills tempered with human values which will bring out the fundamental goodness of human beings in them and benefit the society at large. The T5 mentor works on two levels, namely supporting the mentee in developing essential communication requirements and in helping him/her assimilate enriching human values. T5 builds human connection on trust and is the glue that binds students’ academic and personal lives and helps them make sense of their futures.
