Dear future Mechanical Engineers!!!

Our Department was established in the year 2011 with an intake of 60 students. Mechanical Engineering is the comprehensive discipline in engineering which involves Design, Thermal and Manufacturing of everything right from a small individual part to a complex spacecraft.

Our Department regularly organizes International Conferences, National level workshops, Faculty Development Programs and Symposia with eminent International and National experts from industry and academia as resource persons to keep the faculty and students abreast with the latest developments in the field of technical education.

The department is committed to provide the students with technical expertise in theoretical, computational and practical methods, to analyze, solve and meet future challenges in Mechanical engineering field. Towards achieving this goal, the department is fully equipped with the required facilities for effective delivery of courses. Apart from class room teaching, students are encouraged to carry out simple projects, to get hands on training on what they learn in theory subjects. Industrial visits and guest lectures by experts of repute from industries/academia are arranged on a regular basis, to enhance learning and expose the students to latest advances in the field of Mechanical engineering.

The Department has established a state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence in association with Toyota Kirloskar Motor, making the institute, first in the country to develop Toyota Kirloskar Center of Excellence. The centre has cut sections of Innova and Fortuner car engine systems. Also, the Center of Excellence has facilities for students to experience hands-on assembly and dismantling of various engine parts.

The Department has MoUs with Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Renewable Energy and Development (MGIRED) and Fenfe Metallurgicals for sustained activities in the area of renewable energy and metallurgical engineering respectively.

For the overall development of the students department of Mechanical Engineering is associated with memberships of professional bodies such as Institution of Engineers (India) and ISTE. Various activities of these chapters provide student to gain knowledge and interact with students and staff of other colleges/universities as well as Industry Engineers. Students have taken part in various competitions and won National Level top positions.

Maintaining outstanding track records in academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, technical competitions, sports, social NSS activities, active participation in blood donation camp, tree planting, awareness programs for forests and wildlife protection etc.  We are happy to say that many of our graduates are working in Multinational Companies, Defense Services, in India and abroad.

I welcome you to be a part of our journey towards being a world-class center of excellence in education, training, and research.
