
The IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) Student Branch Chapter, in association with IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE), organized an awareness session on Breast Cancer Awareness. The session aimed to educate students and faculty about early detection, risk factors, preventive care, and the importance of regular screening in reducing the impact of breast cancer. The talk was delivered by Dr. Pushpa Srinivas, MBBS, DGO, FICS (Obstetrics and Gynaecology), Sagar Hospital & Agadi Hospital. With extensive clinical experience, Dr. Pushpa provided valuable insights on identifying early symptoms, lifestyle considerations, self-examination techniques, and the role of timely medical intervention.
Her interaction with participants helped dispel common myths and encouraged a proactive approach toward women’s health. The session highlighted the significance of awareness, early diagnosis, and supportive healthcare practices in combating breast cancer. Students gained a deeper understanding of how informed choices and timely checkups can contribute to improved health outcomes.
