Sri. N. Raghunath Rao Maanay Library and Information Centre is presently housed in ‘S’ building with a floor area of 1030 Sq.mts. The Floor wise library facility is as follows:
2nd Floor – Circulation Section, Stock Section, Digital Library, Periodical & Newspaper Section.
3rd Floor – Reference Section.
Library Highlights
- RFID enabled Library with facial recognition service entry and exit to record library footfalls instantly, a first of its kind among VTU affiliated Engineering College Libraries in Karnataka
- Total seating capacity 200+ members at a time
- Total collections of the Library are over 114512 Volumes (Includes UG Library and PG Library 54108 with 60404 e-Books) of reference and textbooks with 14816 Titles
- A member of NDLI Library (National Digital Library of India, IIT, Kharagpur) with an BNMIT-NDLI Club. As a member of the club, users can access wide range of 7+ Crore online resources from it repository. https://club.ndl.iitkgp.ac.in/club-home
- As a Library initiative, BNMIT Library has created all faculty profiles on VIDWAN Portal – a premier database of scientists/researchers and faculty members working at leading academic institutions involved in teaching and research in India and hosted on IRINS (Indian Research Information Network System) to enable them to exchange their expert ideas, scholarly publications, skills and accomplishments, etc.
- BNMIT Library is a member of VTU Consortium and has the access to 11 e-Resource databases
- The Library and Information Centre subscribes to over 68 print journals, covering of all branches of Engineering, Management & Basic Science Programme
- All the documents have been classified as per AACR II of Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) and systematically shelved for Open Access
- The completely automated Library Management System Software has made it easy to all its activities through Web OPAC facility
- The modern Library and Information Centre provides uncompromising information and intellectual requirements to its students and faculty members with a user friendly approach
- It offers a fully integrated and dynamic environment for conducting academic study
- The Digital Library is equipped with 85 PC’s to access the e-Resources effectively. An open source Dspace Software has been installed at the Digital Library to access Institutional Repositories such as e-books, e-journals, previous year question papers, news clippings, faculty publications, etc. by the students and the members of staff
- Chief Librarian is the institute SPOC for coordinating with NPTEL Team of IIT- Madras enable to support MOOC’s courses for students and staff
- The Library and Information Centre has the IIM-B Library Membership
- Highly qualified, rich experienced, trained and competent staff comprising 6 professional staff to serve the students community and faculty
- Library opens 12 hours a day
