SRI N. RAGHUNATH RAO MAANAY LIBRARY & INFORMATION CENTRE
Sri N. Raghunath Rao Maanay Library and Information Centre is presently housed in ‘S’ building with a floor area of 1030 Sq.mts. The Floor-wise library area and its facilities are as follows:
2nd Floor – Circulation Section, Stock Section, Digital Library, Periodical & Newspaper Section.
3rd Floor – Reference Section.
Library Highlights
- RFID enabled Library with facial recognition transactions, entry and exit with instant library footfalls, a first of its kind in VTU affiliated Engineering College Libraries in Karnataka
- The completely automated Library Management System (LMS) through Easylib Software has made it easy to all its activities with Web OPAC facility
- Total seating capacity for 200+ members at a time
- Total collections of the Library are over 105572 Volumes (Includes UG Library and PG Library 53964 with 51608 e-Books) of reference and textbooks with 14764 Titles
- The Digital Library is equipped with 90 PC’s to access the e-Resources effectively. An open source Dspace Software has been installed at the Digital Library to access Institutional Repository such as e-books, e-journals, previous year question papers, news clippings, faculty publications, etc. by students and staff.
- BNMIT Library is a member of VTU Consortium and have the access to 18 e-Resource databases
- Users can use the Remote access solution to access the Library resources anywhere and anytime through Map My Access with federated search services
- The Library and Information Centre subscribes to over 68 print journals covering of all branches of Engineering and Management Programme
- BNMIT Library is a member of NDLI Library (National Digital Library of India, IIT, Kharagpur). An Initiative to engage learners & promote effective utilization of NDLI’s vast resources through competitions, training & workshops from its repository (URL:https://club.ndl.iitkgp.ac.in/club-home)
- As a Library initiative, BNMIT Library has created all faculty profiles on VIDWAN Portal – a premier database of scientists/researchers and faculty members working at leading academic institutions involved in teaching and research in India and hosted on IRINS (Indian Research Information Network System) enable them to exchange their expert ideas, scholarly publications, skills and accomplishments, etc.
- All the documents have been classified as per AACR II of Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) and systematically shelved on Open Access.
- The modern Library and Information Centre provides uncompromising information and intellectual requirements to its students and faculty members with a user friendly approach
- Chief Librarian is the institute SPOC for coordinating with NPTEL Team from IIT- Madras enable to support MOOC’s courses for students and staff.
- The Library and Information Centre has the IIM-B Library Membership
- Highly qualified, rich experienced, trained and competent staff comprising 6 professional staff to serve the students community and faculty
- Library opens 12 hours a day
