ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL @BNMIT
Entrepreneurship Development (ED) cell provides a platform to all the students, who thrive to become entrepreneurs. ED cell acts as incubator to society, developing future entrepreneurs.
ED Cell, BNMIT is been recognized by AICTE and is been funded to develop the entrepreneurial talent among youth. ED Cell at BNMIT is committed to developing successful entrepreneurs by being a resource, guidance and motivation center through Innovation & creativity, Education & Research, and Community Engagement.
It is been associated with Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), AWAKE, FKCCI, MSME and NEN.
Entrepreneurship Development Cell at BNMIT was initiated in the year 2011. Regular programs and activities have been organized in order to create awareness and to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst students.

BNMIT Entrepreneurship Cell conducts Innovative Product Lab Competition twice in a year for BNMIT students in order to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship from the year 2014 onwards. The product developed by the students will be exhibited at the end of the semester and the best project will be judged & awarded by external members.
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of BNM Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, organized the Inaugural ceremony of New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (New Gen IEDC) on November 17, 2017, supported by NSTEDB, DST, Government of India, New Delhi.
BNMIT is one among 178 colleges across India to submit the proposal for New Gen IEDC and the only Institute in Karnataka to receive a grant of Rs. 2.87 crores from Department of Science and Technology-Govt of India in the year 2017. The purpose of this grant is to develop innovative prototypes by engineering students of BNMIT.
Workshops, technical talks, industrial tours widen the students learning perspective in addition to bringing out the importance of adapting to changes in technology and aid them to keep abreast with technology. The ED cell regularly organizes workshops, technical talks, industry tours and project exhibitions.
Nurturing the innovative ideas of students has paved way for product development and increase in the number of entrepreneurs from institute. Innovative project lab is unique initiative to nurture the budding engineers. Students are at liberty to conceptualize, design and implement solutions to societal problems with concerns for environment. Selected projects are converted into product prototypes under the guidance of ED cell.
Memorandum of Understanding with Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India: ED Cell BNMIT signed an Memorandum Of Understanding with Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India on 13th March 2015. Mr. Raman Gujral , South Regional In charge EDII, Prof. T J Ramamurthy, Director BNMIT signed the MoU in presence of all strategic heads of BNMIT.
Memorandum of Understanding with National Entrepreneurship Network:
ED Cell BNMIT signed an Memorandum Of Understanding with National Entrepreneurship Network on 1st April 2016. National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) is Wadhwani Foundation’s flagship initiative with a mission to create and support high growth entrepreneurs, driving entrepreneurship as a catalyst for job-creation and economic growth in India.
Memorandum of Understanding with Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF)
BNMIT – ED Cell signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NTTF for the betterment of students on 12th November, 2019 where skill development activities will be conducted and students will be prepared to face the world after their successful training and graduation.
Management and effectiveness in encouraging Entrepreneurship &Incubation:
ED-cell is about creating & providing platform to all the students of BNMIT, who wants to be entrepreneurs. ED-cell is about influencing young minds for their better future. ED-cell acts as incubator to Society, developing future entrepreneurs. Pre-Incubates at BNMIT can avail state of the art infrastructure facilities for no cost. The Pre- incubation period would vary from one company to another. However, the maximum period of Pre-incubation would be for 18 months.
Success story of Pre Incubate Company at BNMIT:
Hycube Works Pvt Ltd, a company manufacturing 3D printing machines is our Pre- incubate Company from 2018 having their office in our campus and catering to a good amount of Nationwide clients for their 3D printing machine. They are incubated at NSRCEL in IIM Bangalore.
