The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, B.N.M. Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, organized an expert lecture on “Bridging Academia and Industry: A Journey into SoC Design” in association with the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society.

The session was delivered by Mr. Venkatesh Murthy Muthigi, SoC Architect, Qualcomm, who shared industry perspectives on System-on-Chip (SoC) design and its role in modern electronic systems. The talk emphasized bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practices by discussing SoC architecture, design workflows, industry expectations, and essential skill sets required for careers in VLSI and semiconductor industries. The interactive session helped students gain clarity on career pathways, internships, and aligning academic foundations with real-world industry requirements.
