The Department of Chemistry, conducted Faculty Development Program (FDP) on RECENT ADVANCES IN MATERIAL SCIENCE from 09th – 13th January 2017 in
association with The Electrochemical Society of India and the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. E. S. Dwarakadasa, President, ECSI, IISc., followed by a keynote address. Faculties from various colleges attended the programme and the response was overwhelming.
The Faculty Development Program was designed to explore the implications of Material Science with an objective to encourage young minds to enhance their research abilities by providing an opportunity to meet experts in the field. The Resource Persons for this programme were from IISc., RRI, Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences, SABIC and other reputed Industries. The programme covered, Polymer Composites, Metal Finishing for Engineers, Organic Solar Cells, Nanocomposites, Conducting Polymer, Energy Storage and Conversion Devices, Trace Element Contamination of the Environment E-Waste Recycling – Best Option for Resource Conservation & Environmental Protection and Ecofriendly Pretreatment. On the whole, the programme was very successful.
