The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning organized an Technical Talk on “Security and AI” in association with IIC-BNMIT and IEEE Computational Intelligence Society on 30^th Jan 2026. The session aimed to introduce the role of AI and Machine Learning in cybersecurity, focusing on threat detection, malware analysis, fraud detection, and intrusion detection systems. Students were introduced to fundamental security principles such as the CIA triad (Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability) and modern cyber threats including phishing, ransomware, malware attacks, and data breaches. The workshop also highlighted the use of AI techniques such as supervised learning, anomaly detection, and deep learning in enhancing security solutions. Additionally, discussions covered security challenges in AI systems such as adversarial attacks, data poisoning, and model inversion, along with ethical considerations, data privacy, and responsible AI practices. Through interactive discussions and real-world use cases, the program enhanced students’ analytical, problem-solving, and technical understanding of AI-driven cybersecurity applications.
