The IPR Awareness and Patent Filing Process programme was organized to create awareness among students, faculty, researchers, and innovators about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and the importance of protecting innovative ideas and research outcomes. The session provided insights into different forms of intellectual property, particularly patents, copyrights, trademarks, and designs, with emphasis on patentability criteria and the patent filing procedure.

The programme also highlighted the importance of novelty, inventive step, and industrial applicability, along with the key stages involved in preparing and filing a patent application. Participants gained practical knowledge about identifying patentable innovations, conducting prior-art searches, drafting patent specifications, and understanding the overall patent examination process.

The initiative aims to foster a culture of innovation, research, entrepreneurship, and intellectual property protection, encouraging participants to convert their innovative ideas and research findings into protected and commercially valuable intellectual assets.
