Inaugurated by Dr. H. P. Khincha, Vice – Chancellor, VTU, Belgaum
The Annual Congress of the Indian Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics provided a platform to deliberate on the Mathematical Modeling of problems in Mechanics thereby bridging the gap between experimental and theoretical findings as solid and fluid Mechanics, both Theoretical and Experimental, are important fields of rapid progress that have lot of applications, right from simple machines to rockets, satellites, space research, bio-mechanics and the likes of it. The annual congress also provided a platform for young researchers to exchange their ideas and interact with domain experts from India and abroad. The experts delivered lectures on topics such as Mechanics of Solids, Mechanics of Fluids, Statistical Mechanics, Mathematical and Computational Methods, Operations Research, Experimental Techniques, Composite Materials, Computer Applications, Graph Theory, Robotics, Space Dynamics, Atmospheric Sciences, Oceanography & Bio-Mechanics, Computational Fluid Dynamics and Computer Aided Engineering.
