Symposium on “Specialization matters”
The Department of Business Administration, BNMIT had organized a symposium “Specialization matters” on 10th Sept 2022 in order to help students wisely choose their specialization in the second year of MBA.
Four speakers were invited to speak about four different specializations offered by BNMIT- Banking and Finance, Digital Strategy and Applied Marketing, Human Capital Management and Business Analytics.
The session began with a talk by Prof. Vaishnavee Eishwar Maanay, Head-Media, BNMIT who highlighted the importance of keeping an open mind and clarity in mind before opting the specialization.
Mr. Mohith Shetty highlighted various job opportunities available for students interested in Human Capital Management. Mr. Supriyo Guharoy spoke about ‘Digital strategy and Applied marketing’ specialization. He gave various inputs to the students related to de-materialization, digitalization and few marketing concepts which the students must be familiar. Mr. Anthony L Preetham and Mr. Shivakumar spoke about Business Analytics explained about the three main pillars of business analytics i.e. people, process and technology, followed by importance and opportunities in Analytics. Mr. Vivek Gangadhar, who spoke about ‘Banking and Finance’ Specialization explained the benefits and opportunities in the area of finance. He also highlighted various certification programs that are necessary to pursue career in the area of Banking and Finance.
