Computer Society of India (CSI)
Formed in 1965, Computer Society of India (CSI) has been instrumental in guiding the Indian IT industry down the right path since its formative years. Today, CSI has 72 chapters all over India, 511 student branches, and more than 100000 members including India’s most famous IT industry leaders, brilliant scientists and dedicated academicians. CSI provides recognition of high professional competence, displaying dedication, standard, commitment together with quality. ICT knowledge leading to increase business opportunities and better employment prospects. It provides range of services and networking opportunities through workshops, seminars, conventions and courses. CSI awards are instituted to acknowledge and motivate individuals and organizations working in the ICT field.
Computer Society of India, Bangalore Chapter (CSI-BC) is amongst the largest and most vibrant chapters of CSI. Programs conducted by CSI-BC have been benchmark programs for other chapters of CSI. Many industry stalwarts are associated with CSI-BC. It brings quarterly journals, monthly communication and local newsletter, CSI has International affiliations with IEEE-CS, IFIP, SEARCC, etc. Bangalore chapter hosts and supports about 50+ events in a year. CSI-BC provides value adds to sponsors, delegates, students, IT and membership. Educate IT users on appropriate usage (safe, secure, legal and ethical) of IT. CSI promotes and provides financial support for research work in contemporary areas in IT and Computer Science.
CSI BNMIT Student branch started at BNM Institute of Technology, Bangalore during 2012-13. More than 200 students are registered under CSI-BNMIT, Bangalore chapter. From the day of inception of CSI at the institute, it has organized many workshops, seminars, Technical talk, Management and Entrepreneurship related talks, Hands on events etc., on Free Software Philosophy, Python programming, Web Technologies, Advanced Android programming, Storage Area Networks, Computer networks, Computer vision, Software Engineering and many more for the benefit of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The Institution of Engineers (India) Students’ Chapter
The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is a statutory body to promote and advance the engineering and technology, established in 1920 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1935. head quartered in Kolkata, is a professional institution established, “to promote and advance the science, technology and business of Engineering in all its branches in India”. It is the largest multi-disciplinary professional body of engineers encompassing 15 (fifteen) engineering disciplines with a Corporate membership of over 2 lakhs, and serving the nation for more than 9 decades.
In accordance the students’ chapter under Mechanical division- BNMIT is constituted on 22nd February 2017. The chapter was inaugurated by Chief Guest Er. Jasmail Singh., Honorary Secretary, IEI, Karnataka State Centre. Guest of Honor, Dr. Enti Ranga Reddy., Council Member, IEI, Mechanical Engineering Division Karnataka State Centre for initiating and imbibing the feeling of belongingness into fraternity of engineering to which the students of engineering are destined. The Students Chapters will provide a learned workshop for the development of socio-techno intellectual qualities of its members as well as for encouraging their urge and surge for knowledge in a disciplined and guided system.

Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE)
Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi is a professional organization of engineering educators and educational administrators. ISTE is the premier organization for technology in education, “Providing leadership and service to improve teaching and learning by advancing the effective use of technology in education” Being the only national organization of educators in the field of Engineering and Technology, ISTE effectively contributes in various missions of the Union Government. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, AICTE / DST / State Govts. are well associated with the ISTE for programmes relating to technical Education. The major objective of the ISTE is to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industries and other organizations. ISTE is involved in coordinating various quality improvement programmes and organizing summer/winter school programmes for engineering colleges and polytechnic teachers. BNMIT is an institutional member and has its ISTE student chapter since 2005.

Board for IT Education Standards (BITES)
BITES is an autonomous body promoted by Government in association with Institutions and industries in Karnataka in the year 2000. GoK has setup BITES with the intent of maintaining high standards and quality in IT education. The main objectives of BITES are to enhance the quality of IT Education and improve the employability of Engineering Graduates. The Vision of BITES is “To establish Karnataka as the acknowledged leader in Information Technology by fostering high quality industry-relevant IT education”. The key activity areas of BITES are: Advice on Policy, Challenge / Competitions and Awards, Curriculum Development, Databases, Industry–Institute Interaction, Institutional Development, IT Education Standards and Leadership Development. BITES promotes, encourages, and deep dives into industry-academia equations on a number of platforms. It is this equation which will differentiate Winners from Losers. This is more so because of the exponential changes and transformations taking place in the tech space. Industry relevance of education is the only mantra for survival in the TED-Age. BITES is the quintessential bridge to help in bringing together academia-industry and in setting benchmarks, in line with industry expectations. BITES is the way forward and partnering with it is imperative for every teaching institute, benefiting both the faculty and the student community.

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
IEEE, an association dedicated to advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity, is the world’s largest technical professional society. It is designed to serve professionals involved in all aspects of the electrical, electronic, and computing fields and related areas of science and technology that underlie modern civilization. These include computer scientists, software developers, information technology professionals, physicists, medical doctors, and many others in addition to IEEE’s electrical and electronics engineering core. For this reason the organization no longer goes by the full name, except on legal business documents, and is referred to simply as IEEE. IEEE-BNMIT Student Branch has been actively involved in organizing Technical Talks, Symposiums and Workshops, Quiz, Industrial visits, Hackathon and activities related to social concern.
